AMADEUS ACCLAIMED AT INDUSTRY AWARDS

Amadeus has scooped two prestigious awards at the SLC Awards 2017 held at BAFTA in London yesterday evening.

The awards celebrate sports and leisure caterers taking food and beverage to new heights in this fast-paced and inventive industry.

The Amadeus team were awarded the SLC Caterer of the Year title following a record breaking year for the company.

The award-winning caterer delivered an impressive year of growth which saw it secure a record amount of new contracts totalling over £30m. New clients for the company include the East of England Arena and Events Centre and Compton Verney art gallery while the team also secured two major contracts in Northern Ireland to provide catering and hospitality services for Belfast Waterfront and sister venue Ulster Hall and a further four visitor attractions in the city.

Neil Ashton, Executive Chef for Amadeus at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) also took home the Chef of the Year Award.

Since joining Amadeus in 1998, Neil has not been afraid to take on risks to make Amadeus stand out as a challenger brand. In the last year, he has pushed his team to new heights, completely revitalising the in-hall catering offer available at the NEC. His major success has been the development of The Edge, boasting four different restaurant concepts for visitors to choose from when attending exhibitions.

Kevin Watson, Managing Director at Amadeus, said:

“Winning these prestigious awards further cements Amadeus’ reputation as a leader in the catering sector. At Amadeus, we are constantly changing and improving, driving food innovation and creativity across our diverse portfolio of venues and events. Last year, Amadeus experienced its most successful year to date financially, and we also took on a record amount of new contracts as the business continues to grow at pace.”

Sam Bates, General Manager for Amadeus Events, was also a finalist in the Event Caterer of the Year category while Amadeus’ catering team at Arena Birmingham – formerly the Barclaycard Arena – were shortlisted for the Stadia and Arena of the Year award.
