Amadeus swing into action for Scottish Open
From tee time to tea time, Amadeus have once again been chosen to run the official catering and hospitality for the up and coming 2010 Barclays Scottish Open at Loch Lomond Golf Club from 7th – 11th July.
Preparation has been underway for several months as Amadeus celebrate their tenth year as the sole caterer for the Barclays Scottish Open.
Over 70 members of the Amadeus team are flown up from Birmingham to Glasgow to deliver the event. A further 130 staff are recruited by Amadeus locally in Scotland to help assist with the event. The team are on location for six days prior to the event where they will freshly prepare all food on site.
From the players arrival on Monday to the large numbers of spectators at the event throughout the week there is a variety of catering available, all of which is prepared by the Amadeus team.
Over the 15 days the team will use over 400 lobsters, 4,000 eggs and serve nearly 5,000 glasses of champagne.
Darren Proud, Senior Head Chef for Amadeus said: "The opportunity to cater for The Barclays Scottish Open once more is a real honour. The preparation and hard work that myself and the rest of the team put in is really rewarding."
"Everything we produce is freshly prepared in the middle of a field in Scotland, from beef burgers to fine dining, it is our mission to ensure our high standards remain across every level of hospitality."
"Having done years in hotels, catering for 200 or so the volumes we work with for Amadeus and The NEC Group never cease to amaze me. The quantities we work in at The Barclays Scottish Open would easily cover a couple of months in hotels but takes me just 5 days in Scotland!"
