A big charity weekend is being hosted at Hagley Hall on July 9th
and 10th to raise funds for the Christchurch earthquake appeal.
Hagley Hall and the Lyttelton family have a deep connection with
Christchurch and Lyttelton in New Zealand going back to the
foundation of the Canterbury Settlement in 1850.
On the evening of Saturday July 9th 2011, a concert will take
place in St. John's Church, Hagley, 50 yards from the Hall,
followed by a dinner catered for by Amadeus. Jonathan Lemalu, the
leading New Zealand Bass Baritone, has generously agreed to donate
his performance as has the fabulous NZ lyric Coloratura Soprano Ana
James. They will be accompanied by Lindy Tennent-Brown who is now
established as one of NZ's finest young pianists.
Tickets for the concert and dinner will be available at £100.00
per person. For an application form for the Gala evening please
contact the events team on info@hagleyhall.com.
The following day the Hall will open its gates for an afternoon
of family fun with various attractions which currently include:
- Aerobatic display by the "Twister Duo" (www.twisterduo.com)
- Cricket match between the London New Zealand Cricket Club and
Hagley Cricket Club
- Displays of vintage cars
